Piper Sandes, MS

Hey! I'm Piper Sandes, MS.
I am an APC-eligible counselor who is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and families as they navigate emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Alabama and my Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Capella University.
I bring over five years of experience in the behavioral health field, including approximately 1.5 years of direct clinical counseling experience working with children and adolescents across a wide range of needs and levels of support.
Much of my work has focused on supporting neurodivergent youth and their families, helping children strengthen emotional regulation, develop communication skills, and build more connected family relationships. I also enjoy working with children and teens experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, ODD, self-harm behaviors, grief, and trauma, including challenges related to divorce, adoption, and other major life transitions.
My therapeutic style is collaborative, engaging, and strengths-based. I integrate play therapy, art-based interventions, narrative therapy, and cognitive behavioral strategies to create a supportive and developmentally appropriate space where children can explore their emotions and experiences. I believe that creative and experiential approaches help children feel comfortable expressing themselves while building meaningful coping skills.
I also value partnering closely with caregivers and believe parents and families play an essential role in the therapeutic process. I often incorporate parent coaching and family-focused strategies to support growth both in and outside of the therapy room. My goal is to help children and families feel understood, empowered, and equipped with the tools they need to thrive. I will be serving the community in the office and in Forsyth County schools.
I look forward to meeting you and working with you on your wellness journey!
