Nitsan Jakob, LPC

Therapist
Hi, I'm Nitsan, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I help people who feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or disconnected find clarity, confidence, and direction. My style is warm, honest, and collaborative - expect real conversation, practical tools, and space to explore who you are and who you want to become.
Many of my clients come to me exhausted from trying to "hold it all together" on their own. Together we slow things down, identify what's really going on, and build a plan that feels doable. My approach is structured but flexible: we start by exploring the patterns, beliefs, and stressors affecting your daily life, then set goals collaboratively and work toward them using evidence-based approaches like CBT, REBT, and DBT. I'll help you build coping strategies, strengthen boundaries, and improve emotional regulation - so you leave sessions with tools you can use in real life, not just in the therapy room.
I've completed EMDRIA-Approved Basic Training and am currently under EMDR consultation to ensure high-quality, model-consistent care. I'm drawn to EMDR because it offers a structured, efficient way to process distressing experiences without needing to revisit every detail. It supports the brain's natural healing process and often leads to meaningful shifts in anxiety, trauma symptoms, and emotional regulation.
I'm a person-centered therapist, which means I offer a nonjudgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach - what works for one person may not work for another, and that's okay. As a bilingual immigrant and mother of twins, I bring a multicultural lens to my work and understand how culture, identity, language, and lived experience shape the way we think, feel, and relate to others.
I work with children ages 12+ and adults. My professional experience spans hospital and inpatient settings, outpatient and community mental health services (CSB), school counseling, and community outreach programs in the U.S. and abroad. I hold dual master's degrees in Family Counseling (M.A.) and School Counseling (M.A.).
