Group Therapy

"A single leaf working alone provides no shade."

Group therapy has many benefits and has become a popular modality for therapy. It provides an opportunity to connect with others who are experiencing similar needs and concerns. Group therapy brings together people from different backgrounds, cultures and walks of life that would not otherwise meet outside of this environment. In a group setting, participants can learn from the experiences and coping strategies from others, which can also help normalize feelings that might seems unique to you. Group therapy will provide a platform for feedback and validation that might be missing from your current circle and  even from your current relationship with your individual therapist. What a confidence boost that will bring!

Group therapy often involves teaching and practicing specific coping skills, communication techniques, and problem-solving strategies. These skills can be applied in everyday life to improve emotional regulation, interpersonal relationships, and overall well-being. This form of therapy allows for more real life practice since you are dealing with others in the community, while also creating a sense of accountability and also a sense of belonging. You can feel less stress with sharing your emotions and experiences in a safe environment with others who can empathize and understand similar feelings. Group therapy is a great addition to your current therapy routine!

Group sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes and the duration will depend on the topic.

We look forward to providing you with opportunities to feel safe while expressing yourself and growing!

Current Groups

We run small, supportive therapy groups led by our clinicians. Here's what's enrolling now. Every group begins with a quick conversation to make sure it's the right fit — call (678) 595-2020 or email admin@therapeuticimpressions.com to reserve your spot.

Anger Management — Adults 18 and Up, Weekly Online Group

A supportive, judgment-free Zoom group where you'll learn practical tools to understand your triggers, calm your nervous system, and respond instead of react. This is a committed weekly group where members grow alongside one another — not a drop-in class. Together we work on spotting triggers before they take over, in-the-moment calming techniques, healthier communication under stress, and rebuilding trust in relationships.

When: Wednesdays, 6:00–7:00 PM

Where: Live on Zoom (link sent at sign-up)

Investment: $50 per session

Facilitated by: Darrell

Every member begins with a one-on-one intake with Darrell to talk through your goals and make sure the group is the right fit.

Automatic Negative Thinking (A.N.T.) Anxiety Group — Kids Around Ages 8–10

A group for kids learning to calm anxiety and squash those pesky A.N.T.s — Automatic Negative Thoughts. Inspired by the book "Captain Snout and the Super Power Questions" by Dr. Daniel Amen, sessions use games, art, and role-play to give kids (and parents) real take-home tools. It's a great fit for kids who struggle with negative thinking, worry a lot and get stuck in their thoughts, or have a hard time finding the positive. Ages are approximate — if your child is a little younger or older, reach out anyway; we group kids by developmental fit and may be able to add them or start an additional group.

When: Wednesdays, 4:30–5:30 PM — ongoing weekly through the school year, with breaks over school holidays. It's an ongoing commitment, and you can miss up to two sessions with short notice without being charged.
