Lucy Murray, APC

Therapist
Hi, I’m Lucy, and I’m so glad you’re here. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me. I love what I do!
I hold a master’s degree and an education specialist degree, and am currently working under supervision toward independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). When working with children, I enjoy incorporating mindfulness, play-based activities, creative expression, therapeutic games, and journaling to help them share their thoughts and feelings in ways that feel safe, natural, and engaging. I believe that meaningful growth happens through supportive relationships, and that every child has the capacity to build resilience and thrive when given compassionate guidance and effective tools.
When working with adults, I take a flexible and collaborative approach that is tailored to each individual’s strengths, needs, and goals. I strive to create a warm, affirming space where clients feel heard, valued, and supported. I view therapy as a partnership, working together to deepen self-awareness, build confidence, and develop practical strategies that can be used in everyday life. Much of my work focuses on helping clients clarify their values, manage anxiety and stress, navigate life transitions, and address self-doubt with greater self-compassion.
Outside of my work, I value maintaining a healthy balance in life. I love spending time outdoors, especially hiking in the North Georgia mountains with my husband and our puppy. We have two grown children, a daughter-in-law, and a new grandbaby who brings so much joy to our lives. I’m a lifelong learner and truly believe that we are all a work in progress. Therapy often involves brave self-reflection, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you navigate your journey.
