Mary Lou Martin

Hi, I’m Mary Lou, and I’m so glad you’re here. I believe that meaningful connections and strong relationships are at the heart of positive change, and I truly love helping others navigate life’s challenges.
I hold a master’s degree in counseling and am currently practicing under clinical supervision as I work toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you feel heard, valued, and empowered to grow.
My counseling approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques and mindfulness to help clients better understand and manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. When working with children and adolescents, I also enjoy incorporating creative expression and play-based techniques to help them communicate, build confidence, and develop healthy coping skills. I believe counseling should be personalized to each individual, and I strive to meet every client where they are on their journey.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two grown children, a son and a daughter. Our family has plenty of experience navigating the everyday challenges that can come with ADHD and anxiety, which has given me a genuine appreciation for the importance of patience, understanding, and support. We love all things spooky, spending time outdoors, hiking, and exploring new places together.
It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you work toward greater balance, healthier coping, and meaningful growth. You don’t have to navigate it all alone.
Mary Lou is under clinical supervision and is working toward independent licensure in compliance with Georgia state licensing requirements.
