Terri Richardson, MS

Hey! I am Terri Richardson, a compassionate and skilled Master's-level counselor dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s most challenging transitions. I hold a master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University and bring a rich blend of clinical experience, cultural sensitivity, and heartfelt connection to every client I serve.

 

I specialize in supporting women through major life transitions—including divorce and rediscovering identity—and am currently developing a women’s life-transition group and a specialized group for individuals in high-conflict marriages. My clinical focus includes improving communication skills, building healthy boundaries, and helping clients understand and honor attachment styles using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

 

In my work with couples, I thrive in guiding partners toward healthier, more intentional connection. I also provide trauma-informed therapy and offer evidence-based strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), EFT, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients manage anxiety, depression, and the emotional weight of significant life changes. Additionally, I have experience in family intervention and enjoy supporting adolescents (ages 10+) through adulthood.

 

Outside the therapy room, I love traveling and learn about different cultures, experiences that deepen her appreciation for diverse perspectives and strengthen my ability to connect meaningfully with clients from all backgrounds.

 

I believe that maintaining healthy relationships is not hard work, but heart work. The goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can feel truly heard, supported, and free from judgment as you navigate your personal journey toward healing and growth.
