Wendy Smith, MSW

From Connecticut to Massachusetts, Minnesota to Georgia, my journey has been guided by one constant: a deep-rooted calling to support and uplift others. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Massachusetts and later completed my Master’s in Social Work at Walden University in Minnesota. With more than 20 years in the behavioral health field, I bring a wealth of experience, compassion, and clinical insight to the individuals and families I serve.
My professional background spans multiple areas of care. I have worked closely with children and families navigating the complexities of foster care and adoption, and I gained valuable perspective on education and child development while serving as a substitute teacher in the school system. I was also honored to be part of a multidisciplinary hospice team, helping patients and their families coordinate end-of-life care with dignity and compassion.
In the behavioral health setting, I facilitated the intake process for individuals entering inpatient care—ensuring safety, emotional support, and clear communication during some of life’s most difficult moments. My clinical experience includes working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADD/ADHD, anger management challenges, substance use disorders, and more.
Whether in individual or group therapy, I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Faith-Based Counseling. My approach is person-centered, nonjudgmental, and culturally sensitive, grounded in the belief that everyone deserves to be heard, seen, and supported.
From a young age, I knew I was meant to pour into others—to walk with them through their pain and help them rediscover hope. Today, I’m grateful to live that purpose every day. I'd love to chat with you to see if we'd be a great fit in working together! Please feel free to reach out.
Wendy is clinically supervised, working toward independent licensure in compliance with Georgia state licensing requirements.
